Fruitville Library continues to celebrate every milestone. This month we celebrate our 11th anniversary and next year (October) we will be recognizing the 10th anniversary of our Reading Garden. Our summer programming was huge success with standing room only programs such as John Storms, World of Reptiles and the Lego Club.
With the continued generous support of the Friends we are able to offer quality programming for the community. The Fruitville Friends also provided the funds to have our Reading Garden patio furniture powder coated and it looks better than new! The Library Foundation for Sarasota County launched their website at http://www.sarasotalibraryfoundation.org. The mission of the Library Foundation for Sarasota County is to ensure the future of libraries as an indispensable community resource by raising public awareness of the importance of our libraries, by generating private sector financial support to supplement the public tax fund funding and by being a proponent for issues that promote the viability of our library system.
The One Book/One Community winner is Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption by Laura
Hillenbrand. Look for programming this spring at Fruitville and throughout the Sarasota County Library System.
Thank you for your continued support of Fruitville Library! Ann Ivey
