Youth Programs continue to be a great part of a young person’s day. Over the summer, the Friends of the
Fruitville Library sponsored:
- LEGO Club – 1st-5th Graders built Lego projects to exhibit in the library.
- Drumming Circle – Steve Turner taught how to play traditional drum music.
- Pre-school Music Program – Singer-guitarist, Dave Moran, entertained with favorite children’s songs for
ages 5 and under. - World of Reptiles – John Storms educated school-aged children with live reptiles.
- Teen Program on Egypt – Teens experienced Egyptian culture and sampled exotic appetizers. Presented by Pasco Co. Young Adult Librarian, Paul Stonebridge.
- Anime Club – Teens watched and discussed an anime movie and made sushi out of candy.
- Art Through the Ages – Preteens explored art history with craft projects; ceramic tiles, modern art, Native
American Talking Sticks and Caesar’s secret code wheel. - Fun to be Fit – Toddlers exercised to music with Adrianne Pezzela.
- Laser Juggling and Magic Show – Juggling show and workshop with special laser effects with instructor
Gerard Tricarico. - Wearable Light Teen Program – Teens learned how to wire-up a t-shirt with LEDs, conductive thread and power sources. Really electrifying!!!
- Sand Art – Preteens designed pens, key chains, and bracelets filled with different colored sand.
- GWIZ Ooey Gooey Gloop Teen Program – Teens mixed-up their own slimy polymers with help from
GWIZ. - Duct Tape Program – Teens made amazing accessories like wallets, purses and bags with colored duct tape.
