A Message from Beth Cassell, President

Summertime is a special time at the Fruitville Library for so many reasons. For the Board it’s time to take stock and prepare for the next year’s activities. We plan the annual membership drive in October and events like the annual volunteer appreciation luncheon in February. We evaluate our decisions for the last year and assess ways to increase our support for the library.

Most importantly, summer is the time when the Youth Department librarians mount hundreds of programs for children and young adults. They offer an amazing array of programming to enrich children’s lives and to foster life-long learning. We know how essential this programming is in preventing summer slide.

Sometimes it feels like the world’s problems are too much to tackle. My personal way of resisting that sense of being overwhelmed is to do what I can to make my immediate world a little better. We invite you to join us in making our great library even better and keeping it a place children love to visit.
